Line 01 · Flying Dome Theater

Flying dome theater systems

Hemispherical screens and suspended or platform-mounted seating — six flying theater configurations for venues from compact halls to flagship attractions, with screen, seat and effects specifications published per format.

A flying dome theater puts the audience inside the image: a hemispherical or fully wrapped dome screen fills the field of view while a multi-degree-of-freedom seat system flies the audience through the film. The line covers projection-based flying cinemas, LED flying cinemas and an LED dome screen system; the six listings differ in screen technology, capacity and building demand, and seating and effects are published per format rather than shared across the line.

Projection domes and LED domes

The projection-based systems pair ball screens of 15–30 metres with 4K laser projection: the 5D flying theater and 5D flying cinema are the catalogue's core formats, while the flying dome cinema adds published footprint options from a standard 1,100 sqm layout down to a compact 56 sqm model. The suspended dome flying theater hangs its seats over a bowl screen for the strongest flight sensation and the highest throughput in the line. For venues that cannot darken a hall or want a self-illuminating surface, the flying cinema theater and the LED translucent dome theater use LED dome screens, including a sound-transparent LED structure that lets speakers sit behind the picture.

Motion and effects are part of the system

Seat and effects specifications are published per format, and they are not the same across the line. The 5D flying theater, the 5D flying cinema and the flying dome cinema publish 6-DOF seat platforms with per-seat loads of 50–150 kg, with effect sets drawn from adjustable wind (levels 0–8), micron-level water mist and vibration at 5–50 Hz; leg-sweep feedback is published on the 5D flying cinema and the flying dome cinema, and the LED flying cinema theater publishes 6-DOF seating with wind, water and fragrance effects. The suspended format publishes its own suspended 6-DOF platform at 50–150 kg per seat. The LED translucent dome theater is published as a screen system, with no seat or effects specification on its page — ask which seat and effects configuration applies when you scope that format. Our guide to how a flying theater works walks through how the three subsystems are synchronised.

Scoping a dome theater project

Building demand is the first filter: the suspended format asks for 18–21.5 metres of building height and 310–416 kW of 380V industrial power, while compact projection and LED formats fit far smaller halls. Send your hall dimensions, target seats per cycle and market through the project inquiry form and ask which configuration fits and what terms apply to your project.
