Line 01 · Flying Dome Theater

5D flying cinema

The largest 5D format in the line: a hemispherical or fully wrapped 23–30 m dome, 6-DOF seat platforms with 72 action combinations, and a full environmental effects set including lightning simulation.

The 5D flying cinema scales the flying format up to a fully wrapped dome. Its projection system uses a hemispherical or fully wrapped spherical screen of 23–30 metres diameter, covering 180–360 degrees of the audience's field of view, with 4K (3,840 x 2,160) laser projection ensuring seamless image stitching across the surface. The format suits customised films such as high-altitude flight and space exploration, and supports IP scene development for themed venues.

The dynamic seat system provides 6 degrees of freedom — up, down, pitch, rotation and more — supporting 12 directions of movement and 72 combinations of actions such as falling and sharp turns. Single-seat load capacity is 50–150 kg with a rated standard load of 100 kg per seat, and the seat platform has a rotation range of 180 degrees for complex scene simulation. Some configurations adopt a double-layer track design, and some seats integrate leg-sweeping effects and vibration modules (5–50 Hz) with environmental interactive feedback.

Environmental devices complete the immersion: wind at levels 0–8, water mist from micron-level nozzles, lightning simulation, vibration across 5–50 Hz, and preset olfactory effects. Compared with the 5D flying theater, this cinema publishes the larger screen range and the 180-degree rotating platform; compared with the flying dome cinema, it is the effects-rich 5D specification of the same dome family.

Core technology composition

  • Dynamic seat system — 6-DOF platform, 12 movement directions, 72 action combinations, 180-degree platform rotation, optional leg-sweep and vibration integration.
  • Dome screen projection — 23–30 m hemispherical or fully wrapped screen, 4K laser projection, seamless stitching.
  • Environmental effects — wind 0–8, micron water mist, lightning simulation, 5–50 Hz vibration, preset olfactory effects.

What to confirm for your project

  • A 23–30 m fully wrapped dome is a building decision, not just an equipment decision: confirm hall diameter, height and egress with the layout before ordering.
  • Confirm whether your film plan needs the 180-degree rotating platform and double-layer track — both are configuration options in this format, not defaults on every build.
  • Ask about minimum order requirements and lead time for your proposed configuration, including the film and IP scene scope if you are commissioning custom content.

Buyer questions

What capacities does this format support?

Capacity follows the screen diameter and seat layout you fix: the seat system is specified per seat (50–150 kg, 100 kg rated standard), and rows are configured to the dome. Send your target seats per cycle for a layout.

Can it run our own themed film?

The published format supports customised films such as high-altitude flight and space exploration themes, including IP scene development. Ask which content specifications apply to the configuration you are scoping.

How does it differ from the flying dome cinema?

Both are 23–30 m dome formats. This 5D cinema is specified around the full effects set and the rotating seat platform; the flying dome cinema publishes standard and compact footprint options and the line's power and safety specification.
