Climbing wall robot

The general-purpose magnetic crawler: ultra-high-pressure water jetting and sandblasting on vertical steel, a quick-change 3-DOF tool arm, and wireless remote operation from the ground.

The climbing wall robot is the line's all-rounder for surface treatment on vertical steel. Its headline capability is rust removal efficiency: the highest rate reaches 40 sqm per hour, using ultra-high-pressure water jetting at 280 MPa or sandblasting processes (water sand or dry sand), covering surface treatment needs at different degrees of rust up to the Wa 2.5 and Sa2.5 preparation grades.

A multi-functional operating module does the work: a three-degree-of-freedom robotic arm quickly replaces front-end tools — ultra-high-pressure water rotating nozzles, water-sand spray guns and dry-sand spray guns — achieving multi-process coverage including rust removal and coating peeling with one crawler. Intelligent control and mobility come from wireless remote control operation, with a moving speed of 0–4 m/min while working the wall.

Published dimensions come in two frames: 890 x 950 x 490 mm (compact) and 786 x 1,154 x 550 mm (heavy), with whole-machine weight of 90 kg or less (light) and 300 kg (heavy). Water jet pressure is 2,800 bar (280 MPa) with continuously variable speed adjustment; rust removal efficiency is 15–40 sqm/h; and the applicable channel diameter is a 600 mm manhole or larger for in-tank operation scenarios. Task-specific variants are the tank rust removal robot and the anti-corrosion coating robot.

Main advantages on record

  • Efficient rust removal — up to 40 sqm/h; 280 MPa water jet or water/dry sand blasting for different rust grades.
  • Multi-function tool arm — 3-DOF arm with quick-change rotating nozzles and spray guns for multi-process coverage.
  • Remote mobility — wireless remote control; 0–4 m/min working travel on the wall.

What to confirm for your project

  • State your target preparation grade (Wa 2.5 / Sa2.5) and rust condition — jet and abrasive tooling are specced against it.
  • Choose the frame by access: the compact frame exists for manhole entry; the heavy frame carries the highest rates.
  • Ask about minimum order requirements and lead time for your proposed configuration, including the tooling set.

Buyer questions

How fast does it remove rust?

Published rust removal efficiency is 15–40 sqm/h depending on rust degree and process, covering Wa 2.5 and Sa2.5 preparation standards, at a water jet pressure of 2,800 bar (280 MPa).

Can one robot do both stripping and coating prep?

The 3-DOF arm quick-changes between water rotating nozzles, water-sand and dry-sand guns, covering rust removal and coating peeling in one unit; spraying new coating is the coating robot's job.

How is it controlled on the wall?

By wireless remote control from the ground, at a moving speed of 0–4 m/min.
